This book gives a general idea of the principles of the legal system that governs Malaysia. It provides readers with uncomplicated reading resources through which readers, especially those from a non-law background, may explore some of the issues involved when dealing with the law in Malaysia.

The book provides an overview of Malaysian legal history and includes chapters on the various sources of law and the court system in Malaysia. It also introduces some general principles involved in Malaysia's land law and torts. It is hoped that the book will assist readers to comprehend the various aspects of the legal system in Malaysia and recognize the basic principles of torts and land law that will be applicable in their lives.

Nor Fadzlina Nawi is a senior law lecturer at Universiti Teknologi MARA. She initially trained in law at International Islamic University (IIUM), Malaysia. She later read for her Masters in Comparative Laws, also at the IIUM in 2001 where she began her career as a law teacher at the IIUM. She has been lecturing in various law subjects, before embarking on her Ph.D. research specializing in Family Law Mediation at La Trobe University, Australia in 2008 and graduated in 2013. She is currently teaching Malaysian Legal System, Administrative Law, and Business Law at UiTM Negeri Sembilan since 2014.

Ikmal Hisham Md. Tah is a senior law lecturer at Universiti Teknologi MARA. He obtained his Diploma in Public Administration (DPA), Bachelor of Legal Studies (Hons.), and Bachelor of Laws (LL.B Hons.) from Universiti Teknologi MARA. He pursued his Master of Laws (LL.M) in International Law at the University of Hull, United Kingdom, and graduated in 2009. He has completed his Ph.D. from International Islamic University Malaysia in 2018. He has been teaching Malaysian Legal System, Administrative Law, and Business Law at UiTM Pahang since 2009.
