Health is an intrinsic human right hence the relationship between healthcare and finance is a sensitive subject. However, as healthcare costs increase healthcare financing has been addressed because it is also a central input to poverty reduction and the socioeconomic development of a country. The main problem in many countries is containing the healthcare cost. As Malaysia's health services cost is currently being borne by the government. Malaysia needs a national health financing scheme to contain the healthcare cost and ensure its sustainability. The purpose of this book is to give an idea and possible solution in assessing the ability and willingness to pay for health services among individuals and identify the individuals who are able and willing to share healthcare economic burden and what approaches in implementing the health financing scheme.
